Clichés to avoid like the plague

Here’s a fun resource: a list of “groaners”—“those horrible, overused, hackneyed phrases that turn news copy into boring, ‘same old, same old’ stuff”—from Newswriting.com. Although it’s aimed at journalists, all writers can learn something from this list.
